The Heart and The Womb Connect
A VBA2C Story

From the heart of a mother, connected to the womb of the mother:
“My lust for normal delivery & 3rd child became an achievement for me” ❤️

I had my first baby boy in July 2011. I had a water bag breakage in 36 weeks and I was told, I need to go for C-section. They waited for some hours and said immediately operation is required as scanning guy is not available to understand the baby condition , so they went ahead for C-section. Baby weight: 1.85 kgs.

My second baby was born at end of 2012. Again my bag of waters broke, this time at 37 weeks. No conversation at all. Repeat C section, because of first c section. Baby weight: 2.25 kgs

My mom said..natural birth is God’s gift… And I missed it. 😪 My mom- Inlaw said.. We have taken lot of pain to deliver kids through the normal delivery process, adyou just had them through C section .. Not a big deal…..😥😪

My lust for 3rd child and normal delivery became a achievement for me… Later on.. I become passionate to have one more child…

Is VBA2C possible?

Fast forward to July 2018 – I am pregnant again. We decided to look for options, but no care provider was even remotely receptive to try for normal delivery after 2 previous C sections.

However, thanks to Krishnapriya, my good friend and colleague, whom I met in a site meeting – she suggested me to go to Sanctum… And she shared her experience in The Sanctum. After that, my husband immediately visited Sanctum, got the info and took appointment. By this time, I am in my 32 week and other doctors had advised us to be ready for C section once I reach 36 weeks.

Though I am still certain that I can give birth naturally with a good care provider, the thing that bothered us was that my old hospital people told us that there might be several issues with baby after birth, as they had seen some issues in growth scanning. and we were sleepless till 5th month and later we got used to this tension, which became part of our life.

Then we put this issue in front of Dr Vijaya Krishnan, she routed us to a reputed pediatric hospital, with which we understood that we are searching for a solution to a problem which doesn’t have any solution till after birth!! And even that problem, if at all present, only needs further investigation in first week after birth – not as soon as the baby is born.

With this new confidence, we started putting our energies into preparing for the birth itself. By now, I am into my 34th week, and things fall into place – #LamazeClasses, walking, exercise, #PreenatalAerobics – I felt very healthy emotionally and physically! 😍

5/4/19: As usual, my labor starts with my bag of waters releasing – this time, at 40 weeks and 2 days. Go to Center, get checked, go home.

6/4 and 7/4/19: Repeat of above. Am offered antibiotics in view of broken bag of waters, and I take it. Baby is well. I go about all my daily activities, including prenatal aerobics!

8/4/19: Start on natural induction, as we are at more than 72 hours post water bag release. With the milder contractions setting up, my very first internal exam shows that I am 2.5 cms open, but cervix is still thick. I am told to work with all natural induction methods, and remain patient. I am okay with this plan. I go home by the end of the day.

9/4/19: I am back to the Center by 4:30 am, with contractions which are 5-6 mins apart. A bit panicked. Crystal helps me work through the contractions with some breathwork. I relax a bit. Internal check shows that I am 3 cms open, and fully thinned out, and baby is moving lower. All good things, I know. I feel better being in the Center, I try to relax between contractions.

By 9:30 am, my contractions are 2 mins apart, Kiran puts me in hands and knees position, which helps a bit. However, by 11:30 am, I am panicking again, telling everyone that my contractions are not at all going away. Vijaya Ma’am comes in, sits with me quietly. Refocuses me on breathwork and chanting. It is powerful to be able to relax, and I am managing my contractions much better within 10 mins! 😇 With some bleed being present, I am requested to move to the bed – Ma’am checks and tells me that I am almost 8 cms dilated, and baby is moving super low ❤️

That is not all. There are some twists and turns. Baby heartbeat goes down a bit, but then recovers well. I am given some medication support with Dr. Vijaya Lakshmi’s co-consultation. Vijaya Ma’am is there with me, as is Kiran and the nurse. Homeopathics are given to me periodically to support my system. By 12:30 pm, I am starting to push lightly at first, and then super strongly. Everyone is with me, encouraging me, supporting me, monitoring my baby with every contraction. They tell me they are all ready to receive my baby, am I??

Yes!! And with one last push, my baby boy is born at 1:37 pm.🥳 Baby weight: 3.70 kg!!! 🤩😍🥰 I have done it.

My lust for normal delivery and 3rd child became an achievement for me! 🤱
