When we found out that we were FINALLY 🎉 pregnant 🤰 !!! Then started our planning on which doctor to consult and where we want to deliver our baby, we were sure of one thing though- we wanted to have a natural birthing process! So without hesitation we scheduled an appointment at Sanctum. Our first appointment was with Vijaya krishnan Mam who is an inspiration for us to opt natural birthing. We were greeted with a warm and welcoming smile and that gave me a sense of reassurance and confidence and after leaving the appointment we knew this was the place I want to deliver my child at. Then started my journey to prep for the Delivery day.
My weight was consistently monitored on every follow-up visit at Sanctum where Anne Mary mam was also monitoring me throughout all the checkups. Surprisingly to me and everyone around I only gained 4.5 kgs till the 8th month of my pregnancy.😃 In addition to my diet, I started yoga sessions with Sanjana at Sanctum and those classes were really helpful for my back pain. The yoga helped my pelvic muscles get stronger and my body was more flexible and getting ready for natural birthing. I got the necessary scans done in every trimester. In the following days , Udaya from Sanctum had started Lamaze classes and made me and my spouse understand how important it is for both of us to attend those sessions together. My husband was willing to be with me in all the phases of pregnancy so it made things easier for lamaze sessions too.
The day had finally arrived – it all started on the morning of June 6th! I went for morning walk, and I felt something was different that day. Being a first time mom, I couldn’t even understand that it was a contraction. But since I attended Lamaze sessions, I didn’t panic but kept monitoring the timings of contractions and when pains were more then we reached hospital. After reaching hospital, my water broke. I got down to squatting position and I heard my husband telling me that crowning started and he could see baby’s head. I didn’t trust him at that time because I felt he might be telling that to calm me down. The nurse in the room also told me that crowning has started and I could feel it. In 25 min after pushing for several times in cat cow posture, suddenly I heard a baby crying for 20 seconds. After that all I could feel was no pain or discomfort. Vijaya mam patiently handled me there and told the baby was born and asked me to roll over so that she could hand me over our little baby boy. I rolled over and Vijaya mam has handed over me our little bundle of joy and all I could see was him in the whole room and I forgot everything happened till then.
After the baby is born, it’s important to have skin to skin contact with baby, then I gave him the first feed and after that my husband was asked to cut the umbilical cord. This is our birth story and as a couple we are in this together from day 1. Our nurse vijaya Kumari was also providing immense support for me by trying to calm me down even though I was cranky and post delivery also she was so helpful by educating me and my spouse how to handle the baby and in lactation support. Nurse Sangeetha and Saroja also played an important role for post delivery support and lactation support. I’d also like to thank aayas for taking care of me post delivery. I can proudly say that we made a correct descision by opting for Sanctum natural birth centre and we’re very grateful that our little bundle of joy was born in the hands of Vijaya mam. 💚💚💚 Last but not the least, all I can say is Sanctum is a place where you can have a positive, loving, caring and respectful birth experience. I can assure in Sanctum, a mother could feel all these emotions together and not any where else. 🥰
Hello all. 💫I’m a successful VBAC mother all the way from chennai. 💫In 2015, I delivered a baby boy via c-sec in a Chennai hospital. There is no word which can explain our “Thanks” to the entire team of The Sanctum. We had lost all hopes of a natural birth. The way we were given assurance and hope right from the very first visit, the meaning of the word “CARE” is demonstrated here. THERE IS NO MATCH TO THIS.

Kiran madam did a fantastic job and all the nurses including the ayammas were equally fantastic. In the beginning we were unsure but then during my delivery Kiran helped me with successful natural birth. All the team members were very helpful and caring.
The complete Sanctum staff is Awesome ! We get positive vibes from everyone at the Birth Center. For us the standouts were Dr. Vijaya Krishnan and Sukeertha. This natural birth wouldn’t be possible without Dr. Vijaya’s strong will and support.

My wife delivered a baby boy on 7th May 2019. The care my wife received was beyond words. Nurse Ramya was with us for almost 32 hours during early labour and long after our baby was born. The amazing team and their values made this place a true “Sanctum”. Every labouring mother requires such care and support. Cheers to the entire Healthy Mother team.

. If not our healthy mothers team… I would have never experienced natural birth as both are big babies…. I feel so proud to be the part of sanctum. My birth experience at sanctum is very empowering. I badly needed a doctor who listens and answers all my doubts, before this when I visited doctors at other hospitals, was terrified and so anxious as they hardly gave 5mins, nothing was explained just the prescription and list of medicines. Here in sanctum, each mom is given plenty of time to open up, ask, listen, and learn. They explains tests, scan reports, prescribes only the much necessary medications, very less interventions until required. Encourages to exercise, eat right and understands emotionally, lots of support and hugs too 🥰. It’s been 12 years still it’s the same enthusiasm and undivided attention they give to each mom, never saw such passionate care providers 👏🏻👏🏻.
They have an amazing team and services too. I have attended prenatal yoga, Lamaze classes, physiotherapy, prenatal massage and postnatal massage and infant massage also 😍. All of them helped me to stay fit and active all along the pregnancy and prepared mentally and physically for labor. As I had all right information shared through Lamaze classes I could manage my labor so peacefully, beautifully and fearlessly and birthed my baby boy with ease.(at 40 weeks 1 day, with grade 3 placenta and super low fluid levels) I never imagined myself having such courage until I gave birth naturally, thanks to all the instructors, nurses, ayammas, gynaecologist, and to the amazing midwives who helped me to make my delivery and post partum so wonderful. And not to forget the lactation support, they send you home only when you’re confident about it. So anyone who wants to have a natural birth experience with such love, support, encouragement, care and patience, this is the place you should be. We go there for pediatric visits and It feels like home whenever we go there, the warmth and the smiles there are never ending☺️.
i would suggest sanctum to every ‘mom to be’ that I know.. because here we will know the joy of pregnancy.. and everyone here are so supportive and great motivators..

Today I visited Healthy Mother Sanctum and met Ms Vijaya Krishnan and Ms Crystal. It was 6 years back that I delivered my son amongst the warm people and friendly space at Healthy Mother Sanctum. Today the memory is as fresh I saw the revamped environment they have built with so much love. I have bf my son for 3 years and I have to say it was only because of this wonderful group , where I found answers to all my queries. I have directed so many mother’s to benefit from this group too. Today dearest friend was in a situation where i could be of very little help. I immediately reached out to Vijaya Krishnan and how wonderful it was seeing her taking up my friend and transforming her into this confident mother walking her through her super powers one more time . I strongly feel it is our super power to be able to transform a little child into empathetic and loving individual because of this bond we share with them. This , as we joked needs a mention on our resume. If a woman can deliver and transform a baby to strong man. She needs no other validation on her abilities. This journey itself is living example of how strong and complete she is.
My dear friend, shared with me , her first accomplishment of pumped milk and I am sure this must have brought her the joy which will only multiply in days to come. I am very proud of you, Deepthi. And I can’t thank you enough for this. I thought if I can’t walk my friend through the path I did which was life transforming for me , my presence in her life was meaningless. 20.1.2019 – Today, we complete 1 year relationship with The Sanctum team 💐. 20.1.2018 is the day we heard our little Yatharth’s heart beat 💗 for the first time when he was just 4 weeks old.. We walked into the Sanctum Birth Center as strangers, but today we know a handful of beautiful souls just like our extended family 😊 – the entire team out there!!
