Our midwives help the mothers give birth to their babies. I am not "delivering" anyone. I help mothers to have as a gentle a birth as they desire. When mothers understand this difference between being passive and having someone "deliver" them, versus being active and birthing their own babies, that's when they are able to have the best birthing experience! We are a midwife-run Natural Birthing Centre. Our midwives help the mothers give birth to their babies. I am not “delivering” anyone. I help mothers to have as a gentle a birth as they desire. However, I do want to point out that only true placenta previa would negate a trial of labor. Breech - would depend on practitioner's skills, and more importantly parental choice after a true informed consent. Small mom - this is something which I do not give much weightage to!! Babies of healthy mothers - small or big - do not grow much beyond what their mothers' pelvises can accommodate! So, even the most petite of mothers deserves a good trial at labor!
